streetstyle t-shirt of the week: live blues st. louis

Beale On Broadway Blues St. Louis Style

tee shirt live blues st. louisI am home for the holidays in St. Louis, Missouri and no matter what the occasion whenever I return here, I always have a fantastic time. I celebrated my birthday a few days ago and as a treat, a dear friend from elementary school introduced me to the wonderful Beale on Broadway bar, infamous for its live blues St. Louis style.

This sweet little blues club is a hop, skip and jump from the Cardinal baseball
live blues the beale on broadwaystadium. It is also strategically located between the historic Soulard Market and the Gateway Arch and Riverfront with its bevy of waterfront offerings.  Beale on Broadway has become the cornerstone of the blues experience in this town rich with historical musical contributions to the world.

On the night that I attended,  the featured musical guest was none other than, Kim Massie (shown in the picture below right), a local blues singing sensation who has a pair of pipes that can belt it out like it’s nobody’s business…and if you know the blues,  you know what I mean.  The crowd was a melting pot of anyone and everyone who has a love st. louis blues singer kim massiefor great local live music.  The audience requested sentimental favorites, people sang along, and audacious couples who had drank enough to have the balls to get up and do a two-step… got up and did just that.   Who knew St. Louis was rockin’  it like this?? Obviously everyone except me! As rounds of beverages were ordered and consumed and ordered and consumed some more,  I began to realize that I was enjoying a pretty special birthday night only a few steps away from the mighty, mighty Mississippi. As of  one of St. Louis’ most famous musical teams,  Ike and Tina Turner, would have wanted it, we were “rolling down the river” Proud Mary style! Yep! cue the Ikettes!

So, the next time you find yourself here in town wondering what to do on an odd night not already stuffed with convention commitments, Beale Street on Broadwayhead on over to The Beale Street on Broadway.  It’s open seven days a week with a line-up of locals and special guests from here and beyond that’ll keep a smile on your face, your good foot a tappin’ and your blues on the sunny side of life.

This design is steller! You definitely know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
